Objects: The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical effect of the Dong-Si acupuncture treatment at the acute ankle sprain.
Methods: This study was carried out on the 43 patients who had been treated at Conmaul oriental hospital from June 1st, 2001 to July 30th, 2001. We divided these patients into 2 groups. The Group¥° was practiced with the Dong-Si acupuncture treatment and Group¥± was practiced with the painful point acupuncture treatment. We investigated visual analogue scale(VAS) score after treatment.
Results and Conclusions: The VAS score of Group¥° was statistically lower than Group¥± after 1st. and 2nd treatment. So we may conclude that the Dong-Si acupuncture treatment and rehabilitation is recommendable at early stage of ankle sprain.
